when i've cried at your writings in the past 4 weeks, it has been a real, clean pain, a deep deep sadness made acute, the right kind of grief for a situation like this. it is not the maddening, sickening shock/fury/terror i feel at basically everything i read on social media. i wish/hope hamas could be assuaged with legos, or with anything short of their desired eradication of israel/jews. all the / reveals my confusion/fear. anyway, thank you.

To think that a re-enactment of a multiple-millennium, religious real estate dispute was playing itself out on our living room floor 30 years ago!
When ours were the same age, those two teams did not like each other (sports broadcast parlance).
