Three times I've needed a D&C. Three times I've received an EOB that stated I had a "medical abortion." The fact that women are now dying because of the sick, twisted interpretation of a select few is beyond disgusting to me. The pain I felt for each of those losses is still with me - and they were 42, 40, and 36 years ago. We cannot let this happen. Can. Not.
Thank you for bearing witness to Amber Thurman's tragic and preventable death. I had the same postpartum complication as you, a few hours after my daughter was born in 2017, while I was still at the hospital. It was all utterly terrifying, but I went in for the D&C and was back home two days later. I have tried to turn a traumatizing experience into a positive by raising awareness about maternal mortality in the US (https://www.kveller.com/as-jewish-moms-we-need-to-fight-for-birth-justice/ ) but sometimes I feel like I'm shouting into the void on the issue of repro healthcare disparities. And of course the situation has only worsened since Roe was overturned. Thank you for sharing about your own tough experience and fighting the good fight. In solidarity ~ hannah

Thank you, from someone who suffered from two PPH but is alive thanks to a lifesaving drug related to abortion care that might soon be banned.
Thank you for sharing your story. I also have a story; most of my friends do, as well. The best thing for us to do is VOTE! We cannot go back…

Thanks for sharing that frightening experience. I wept as I read this: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/16/opinion/abortion-bans-death-thurman.html?unlocked_article_code=1.LU4.h6V4.CxAWrvnkrO4m&smid=url-share
I gave to PP in honor of All of Us
Crying as I read this. Could have been me too.
MSNBC "Last Word" is dedicating tonight's episode to the Thurman case. I suggest everyone watch.
