I wish we could just tell people—like the writer who commented on your pregnant stomach—to just fuck off. No one asked you to prognosticate. If you have any interest in the career prospects of parents, agitate for universal childcare.
Nearly 3 years into motherhood and the only reason I have a career is because my husband quit his job to care for our daughter. I’m still plagued by guilt and feelings of inadequacy (as a mom and a professional) every day, but thank you for the reminder of my incredible privilege.
