I have enjoyed the book tour for Buffalo Fluffalo primarily due to the questions young children ask me after I do each reading.
Some of the questions deal with the book, but the best ones often come from another dimsension?
Here are some things I have been asked when calling on “quiet hands” at schools across New York and Pennsylvania, talking to groups of from 60 to 250 children between the ages of four and eight.
Why is the buffalo angry? (Why do you think he’s angry?) Because he’s PISSED - whoops - I mean PISSED OFF.
Can you guess my name?
Why is my dad upset? (I don’t know.) Because he has to sleep on a couch!
My dog is named Maisie. (Is that your question?) Why is my dog named Maisie?
How old are you? (How old do you think I am?) Fifty!
Are you a mom?
Do you know that my aunt [REDACTED] has ONE FOOT?
Can I ask you a question? (Yes of course.) Is your kid named Buffalo?
Did you write all the books in the library? (No) Do you wish you did?
Why does it rain? [I GENUINELY EXPLAIN THIS] No I mean why does it rain SOME DAYS?
Why are you here?
Why…um…when my brother ate a hamburger um did he THREW UP?
Have you ever seen a real buffalo? (Yes.) Did you cry?
Did you know sometimes I scream!
Do you know what rhymes with Caleb? (What?) Baleb.
Are you going to be our teacher now?
Can you read “Sheep in a Jeep?”
i'm crying
nothing like children to help us make sure we know what "size" we are. ❤️
