Passive Aggressive Roommate Email From My Child's Immune System to His Preschool Class
Couple quick thoughts for going forward!
Hey, Room 201 Besties!
Miss you all so much!! So excited to see all your (entire) faces again after spending so much time away!
Just wanted to touch base really quickly about a few things going forward for next semester. It feels like the new year is going to be a perfect time for some new goals and I just wanted to throw a couple ideas out there and see what you all think! No pressure either way but here’s a quick list I randomly made bored on the train one day.
No more open mouth coughing into each other’s mouths.
I get that it’s tradition to cough into each other’s mouths, and I love honoring the school’s legacy and know that some of our parents and even a few grandparents (Cleo and Everett!) coughed in each other’s mouths when they went here years ago. But! After some of our hospitalizations this fall it just got me thinking - maybe we could try our own spin on it? Like coughing slightly away from each other’s faces? Or even (sorry to be THAT roomie) coughing into our sleeves the way Professor Abby showed us in orientation?
Anyway - just food for thought!
Which brings me to my next suggestion which you guys can truly take or leave.
No more spitting food out of our mouths when we decide we don’t like it, then someone else picks up the chewed up food and eats it.
Feels like this is just another thing we could possibly do without going forward, because, again, going to urgent care so often feels kind of overplayed at this point.
No more saying “I have a secret!” then throwing up in each other’s ears.
This one is kind of whatever but if you have time, don’t vomit on each other’s faces if you can help it. And real talk for a sec: This one is kind of personal. Since I’ve been cleaning up everyone’s cough viruses pretty much every week, I actually didn’t have any time left to fight off the GI one I got just before break. I’m not mad, I’m just stretched pretty thin and feel like I can’t really focus on other things. I get that I signed up to have the lymphocytes and I’m fortunate enough to have (some!) antibodies, but I just kind of feel - to be completely honest - taken advantage of, and I’m not sure I can go forward dealing with everyone’s mess at this rate anymore.
OK! Bleh! Rant over! Sorry again and I’m totally ready to make this the best semester ever!!! Can’t wait to go absolutely WILD with you all for pollen season!!!
