Here is why I win Jewish Mother of the Day Award for January 27th, 2024:

On Holocaust Remembrance Day, after seeing a play about a French family shattered by the Holocaust, I woke my husband in the middle of the night in a panic because I was worried about our son.

ME: It’s going to be so hard for him. He has no idea.

HUSBAND: I know. The play was so upsetting, but he’s safe. He’ll be fine.

ME: You don’t understand what I’m saying.

HUSBAND: What are you saying?

ME: I’m worried life will be hard for him because he’s…so beautiful.

HUSBAND: [GOES BACK TO SLEEP]
